North Creek Investment Opportunities
The Gore Mountain expansion to the North Creek Ski Bowl and the Ski Bowl Village development have finally received APA approval. Now what? Well now the investors who have watched, waited and hesitated on the sidelines have a few opportunities to invest and ride the coat tails of these large developers on the way to prosperity. Investors and "investor want to be's" have been dancing around the area for years. Some have invested in local businesses and multi-family residential properties. Others are holding undeveloped land and still others are moving forward with residential subdivisions.
There will be no better time to invest in the North Creek area. Those who invested pre-9/11 bought at great prices. Those prices are but a distant memory. Today several local properties are on the market at reduced prices. The sellers are under pressure to sell and appear motivated, but at some point they will see developers pushing dirt on these new projects. At that point visions of dollar signs will cloud their vision and prices will increase.
I see this as a brief window of opportunity for investors. When construction begins, there will be a demand for temporary housing for out of area workers. Homes in and around North Creek currently on the market could make fine rentals for these workers. The asking prices for a local restaurant has recently been reduced to a bargain.
