Development Progress in North Creek

It has been a busy week or so in the Gore Mountain region. A few days short of a week ago, the Ski Bowl Cafe opened without fanfair. In the business they call this a soft opening. Tom Stoddard and his wife have converted the log home at the corner of Routes 28 and 28N into a warm and welcoming place to get coffee, fresh baked goods, breakfast sandwiches and cold sandwiches. They even offer free WiFi (note that's free as compared to other locations that make you pay for WiFi.).

Yesterday the "for sale" sign came down from the front of Casey's North. Casey's North is history! My sources tell me that before the, as yet unnamed, establishment opens the dining room and bar will undergo a major reorganization. New owner/operators are the team of Kip McDonald andMarion and Bob Eagan team who have most recently done such a great job with The Black Mountain Motel and Restaurant. Let's hope for a classic apres ski pub environment that doesn't try to be more that it needs to be.

Watch Main Street for more exciting developments as "Bar Vino" is putting on the finishing touches and should open very soon. Bar Vino will be the one real wine bar in the Lake George and Gore Mountain region. Lake George visitors may want to venture north (away from the traffice and tourists!) and "Laura's" gets ready to add sit down dining.

We have a couple more restaurants for sale so it's not too late to join the next generation of business success in North Creek.
